Particularly, wallstreetnews.com. This is an especially annoying tracking cookie, as it blocks any navigation to what I was originally doing at the time of its obnoxious arrival. I can`t do anything in that current window that I want to unless I minimize it. Then I have to open the "tools" section of the browser I`m using, go into the "privacy" settings and type in the name of the cookie I want to remove. This removes it, but unless I restart my computer I can`t get rid of the minimized window that started the mess. Oh, I forgot, I can use "Ctrl Alt Delete" to get into the running applications and stop that tracking cookie by deleting it. But, I still have to do the above all over again when I once again go online to some of the same sites or even my email, and this nasty little application of some kind (labeled "tracking cookie") reappears. I want to find a way to PREVENT it from getting into my computer. My virus program won`t do it (AVG 9.0), or I have yet to find a way to use it effectively.

In the Mozilla add-ons there are two extensions that deal with tracking cookies. The first one is "Ghostery" and it detects and blocks all tracking cookies. The other is "Better Privacy." It does the same as Ghostery but aims at persistent flash cookies and LSO's.

I use both and I'm very pleased with them.
