ok, so heres what happens, when i download any file, if i create a new folder in firefoxes download explorer dialogue (to be clear its the window where you browse for a folder to save the file in), when i create a new folder, firefox crashes after i deselect it, since new folders are created with the name text highlighted and selected for typing. so, regardless of wether i change the name from new folder to anything else, once its deselected and the folder created, firefox crashes. its been doing this since like 20, and its getting to be on my nerves. on rare occasions it does work when i dont change the text, but this is extremely rarely. ive changed my antivirus, and the problem still continues.

How do i stop this and why is it happening? thanks

If you have submitted crash reports then please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that have a "bp-" prefix:

  • bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

You can find the IDs of the submitted crash reports on the about:crashes page.

  • You can open the about:crashes page via the location bar, like you open a website, or open the crash reports page via "Help > Troubleshooting Information".

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
