Can you all change the tag feature back to the way it was? Once I tag an email, I do not like that it shows up as black text when I select the tagged email.

Using tags is the best way to know what emails I have completed action on. Now when I select an email, it shows up as black instead of the selected color of the tag I have assigned. That is very confusing. I have to make sure I do not have the email selected to make sure I have tagged it. That's not good. It takes extra steps and I find myself double checking things all the time. That is time consuming. I love Thunderbird, but this feature on the most recent update needs to go away. Please change it back.

something non standard here.

The text of the selected item should be the opposite of the unselected, so if normal text is black, selected tagged item should be white.selected text See the attached image.

This is what I have in TAGS and how they appear.

TAGS: Important - colour selected Red To Do - colour selected Blue Work - colour selected Orange Personal - colour selected Green

When I apply these tags to an email this is how they display in the email list. Unselected state: Important - text colour Red, white background To Do- text colour Blue, white background Work- text colour Orange, white background Personal- text colour Green, white background

Selected email state: Important - text colour white, red background To Do- text colour white Blue background Work- text colour white, orange background Personal- text colour white, green background

If I create a TAG called 'Special' and set colour as Black then this occurs: unselected: Special - text colour Black, white background selected state: Special - text colour white, Black background

Are you saying that in unselected state they appear as you would expect, they have white background and coloured text. But if selected - it looks like a regular untagged email: they have white background (you expected a colour) and the text becomes black (you expected white), so it is not possible to know what the Tag was assigned.

Please check that you do not have a conflict with an Addon by restarting Thunderbird in Safe mode. 'Help' > 'Restart with addons disabled' Then check the tag to see if the text goes black.

If this works then one of your addons is causing a conflict. Gradually enable the addons/extensions until it fails to reveal which addon it is.

What 'theme' are you using? Tools > Addons select the 'Appearance' icon - usually below the 'Extensions' icon. I'm using Default 24.5.0

That's almost correct. When I select a tagged email, the background will become the assigned color of the tag and the text will become black. (I did not even realize this before because the light blue I used was almost the same color as the default blue background of an untagged, selected email.) In some cases, this is not as much of a problem, but if I use a light blue color, as I do for my "completed" emails, then it's hard to tell the background color of the tagged email from the background color of the untagged email.

I guess I will just not use the blue for any tags. That's a shame. Blue is my favorite color...lol.

Did restarting in Safe mode change the black text to white?
