I've set up an Outlook calendar and an iCloud calendar and when trying to create a task, am still getting the message: "please select a calendar that supports tasks"

Can I use Thunderbird's "Tasks" functionality with either of these calendar products? I'm not willing to use a Google calendar. (I'm on a mission to get off Google products.) I've looked around and can't find any recent info on this.

Thanks!

TB Sync is the way to go. It effortlessly handled connecting to iCloud and syncing calendars as well as tasks. It also supports Exchange ActiveSync (EAS). I've updated the guide I creates for getting off gmail to reflect this:

tasks are not covered by any "standard" so any tasks support has to be written specifically for the server that is is to synchronize with. Other than google, I am unaware of any add-ons that support task synchronization.of and the ones for exchange server et al. Paid proprietary servers all.

This add on purports to support tasks. I'm going to try it out and will report back.
