Lightbeam shows as open and I see the little icon in the Addon bar, but nothing happens
I'm running Mac OS 10.8.5, FF 24.0. Clicking on the icon does nothing. The tools menu shows "close Lightbeam", but nothing happens.

NEVER MIND. This add on isn't worth the trouble. Thanks to anyone who has put in tine trying to help.

Try to disable all other extensions to test if there is possibly a conflict with Lightbeam.
There's a support site link on the Lightbeam for Firefox add-on page where you can browse open issues, in case it helps.
When I did that, I don't see Lightbeam in either the addon menu or the Tools menu.

You need to enable Lightbeam, otherwise you won't see the extension. The point is to only enable Lightbeam and disable all other extensions to check for conflicts between Lightbeam and other installed and enabled extensions.
I did that. Thanks for the help, but never mind, I'm over using Lightbeam.
rj180 don't loose it bro, I'm also having a sudden issue with Lightbeam. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it suddenly lost it's ability to 'Show the Global Location' and that's whats freaking me out here. I'll stay on top of it and when I figure this all out I'll give you a shout ok? Chill young man and :) This is a awesome addon and extension which shows us who's watching Us but yes I fully understand your frustration cause it got me going too! Don't loose faith and heart we'll get this done...
