facebook pages randomly display as blank in firefox. Work in IE Tab
After the latest Firefox update, facebook pages often, but not always, show up completely blank. This is the only website I visit which has this problem. facebook works properly when I use IE tab in firefox.
Chosen solution
If reloading and bypassing the cache works (e.g. Ctrl+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R) then there is no need to clear cache and all cookies. However it shouldn't be necessary to do this often.

Hello,
Try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most add-ons.
(If you're not using it, switch to the Default theme.)
- You can open Firefox 4.0+ in Safe Mode by holding the Shift key when you open the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
- Or open the Help menu and click on the Restart with Add-ons Disabled... menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, just select "'Start in Safe Mode"
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. Please follow the Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems article for that.
To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before opening Firefox for normal use again.
When you figure out what's causing your issues, please let us know. It might help other users who have the same problem.
Thank you.
I have tried Safe Mode, clearing the cookies and cache, and doing a reset to default options. Noe of this worked.
When you get the blank page, does either Ctrl+r (regular reload) or Ctrl+Shift+r (reload bypassing cached pages) get you a normal page?
Regular reload works occasionally. Didn't know about Ctrl-Shift-R, will give that a try and report back.
Ctrl-shift-R seems effective so far.
That means you need to clear the cache and cookies.
- See the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article for more.
Facebook is a very dynamic site, and re-using cached files may be less successful on FB than on other sites. Still, most people don't need to reload regularly, so hopefully someone will identify another factor.
I noticed you have Ghostery installed. Does it block anything that might normally be loading on Facebook?

Oops cor-el, thanks, that fact is now stored in my firefox dictionary.

Thanks, but as I said a few posts ago, I already tried clearing the cache.

have you tried testing this in a new profile.

Thanks, this does seem to be an adequate workaround, since I don't visit that site all that much anyway, and it is the only one affected. Appreciate the help from all.
