I downloaded an update and now Firefox does not connect to the Internet. Having downloaded it again and again without avail, what do I do?
Firefox has gone haywire and won't connect to the Internet. I was prompted to install one of your updates and I did. Afterwards, it would no longer connect. I uninstalled and reinstalled it several times, but still I cannot connect to the Internet. My OS is Windows 7

After a Firefox upgrade/update, your firewall may not recognize that new version and will not allow access to the internet; that is your firewall doing its job. You may need to
- close Firefox (Firefox button > Exit or File > Exit)
- remove permissions for Firefox from your firewall's programs list
- restart Firefox
- allow your firewall to detect the new version and give the permissions needed by your firewall for Firefox to access the internet.
