I am using Firefox 4.0.1. I want to sort my bookmarks alphabetically. I click on "Show All Bookmarks" and then click on "Views" then on "Sort" and finally "A > Z Sort Order" and the list of bookmarks in that current window becomes sorted in the manner I wanted. However, once done, if I click on my bookmarks icon to find a particular site, the original order (unsorted) is back. How can I make the sort remain?

Sorting in the Organizer, as you discovered, is only for the Organizer.

To alphabetize the Bookmarks menu, perhaps the easiest method is to display the Bookmarks sidebar using

Ctrl+b or
View menu > Sidebar > Bookmarks

Then toward the top right-click "Bookmarks Menu" and choose Sort by Name.

Does that work?

Hi nairby, I was offline yesterday. So your problem is solved? If not, please describe whether you want to sort the Bookmarks menu/sidebar or the list in the Bookmarks organizer/library, and what you've tried.
