how can I go back to previous version of firefox cause 4 sucks and I am going to have to go back to internet explorer?
This version is horrible, and I want to downgrade back to previous version if I can't then I am going back to internet explorer, the search engine is an aberration...just trying to perform a search for hotmail sign in page and had to click on have a dozen responses before I find the one I want where before was right there at the top. If I cannot go back to a previous version, just tell me so I can start using internet explorer, it is horrible as well but at least search engine was not as frustrating to use!!!!

To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

I'm glad you people already had a way to downgrade back to the previous version. 4.0 bytes! it's incompatibility with Norton Products is not good. I rely on my Norton add-ons! Please make it clear in future "upgrades" which of the software is no longer going to work with Firefox.

I totally agree. Firefox 4 is pathetic. What were they thinking? They took every useful feature and either hid it or turned it off. I HATE THIS VERSION.
For now, I am going back to Internet Explorer. At least I don't have to spend days trying to get it to work the way it should.
Firefox 4 -----> YUCK, What a horrible way to create a new version. You could have at least given us the option of retaining the features we had in the previous version.
myself was a FF user for last 12 yrs !! even i remember recommending ppl abt it...but FF 4 is a real PAIN IN THE APPROPRIATE PLACE....
it hogs memory...for simple functions (available by default in previous vers) ,now u have to install add-ons for them (like new tab button, FF4 either lets u have a new tab button OR the "+" button near opened tabs..but U CANT HAVE THEM BOTH SAME TIME!! WHAT THE.......
PC hangs/freezes almost everytime i ran FF 4 ..and for that i have lost valuable data..mind u, my machine config is not outdated. I have reverted back to previous vers FF 3.6...and am NOT UPDATING IT SOON....
ALL OF U FOLKS HAVIN PROBS WITH FF4 : easiest solution for all your probs -
1) get rid of FF4 and install the previous vers - http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html after backing up - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information

What is the hijacked Ask.Com shit? This REAAAALLLYYYY sucks! I trusted you Firefox and now you do this to me when I get this nice happy message about testing the latest version of Firefox you fuck over my computer, thanks a lot!!
