I had to change the password on my outlook account. Then changed the password in Thunderbird using this link reference: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/pro.../privacy-and-security-settings]

The exception to what i did was : Preference, Privacy/Security; Passwords; Saved Passwords; right clicked as instructed entering updated password which is saved. However, I continue to have difficulty with Thunderbird telling me to "Enter your password ....." Then I enter it and click the box for "Use password manager"

So I enter the password that I used in "Saved Passwords," however I get a pop up saying: "Login to server smtp.office365.com with user name [email protected] failed"

I am not very good with all this and struggling. I greatly appreciate your assistance!

I may not have a solution, but let's first confirm where you are. I infer that your email is NOT at @live.com. True? Please review all settings for the account: email account and password. Check at tools>account setting and also the SMTP setting (email id appears in both and password appears in SMTP setting), and also in Tools>preferences>general in saved passwords. Something to "possibly" change would be smtp server. I have an outlook account and my smtp server is outlook.office365.com
