The system keeps putting emails from a regular sender into spam.
This was never an issue but the last 3 months all emails from a particular sending keep getting sent to spam. I have added the sender to my contact list. I keep marking the emails as "not junk" while they're in the spam folder and they get moved into the "inbox" but the next one that comes in goes straight to spam. What else can I do to get them to stop going into spam? I would think that after 3 months the adaptive system would have learned to adapt.

Is mail being sent to Spam by TB or by the mail provider before it's downloaded to TB? You might have to whitelist the sender on the webmail site or add them to the webmail contacts.

That's a good question I never thought of. I will have to check it out and let you know if that was the situation. Thanks for the suggestion.
I added a spam filter in my gmail account and it looks like that solved it. I wish I would have asked months ago! Thanks again!
I have this problem but it has nothing to do with my ISP. A number of contacts send mail to me and my wife, hers go into her inbox, mine go into spam!

If you literally mean 'spam', keep in mind that TB doesn't use that term, but some providers such as Yahoo do, so you might have to follow the advice in my first reply.
I have the same problem. I keep marking as not spam and still it goes to spam. I have gone to my webmail server and added the addrss to a "white list" on there, and still it keeps going to spam. Very frustrating! How long must you keep marking as not spam until it stops going there?
Im having this problem too. I have 4 accounts in Thunderbird, two of them are Gmail one is Infovia and the other one is Hotmail.
This problem occurs only in ONE of the Gmail accounts, sadly is the one that i use the most (i receive more than 100 mails per day). Every mail i receive in this account get the message "Thunderbird thinks this message is junk mail", the mail stays in the inbox but i have to click "Not Junk" everytime and is pretty frustrating. This is my post with all the information i have and what things i have tried https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1303975
