As of today, the first day of using Firefox 66.0.5, I am unable to view any sort of directory on youtube.com. I am still able to view videos perfectly fine, but to to do I must manually enter the video url or use the autoplay feature to navigate to them; links and thumbnails do not appear on the home page, in the side listings, or even in search results. It is not the case that they are invisible but still there, as clicking in the area they should be produces no effect. Other video streaming sites, such as twitch.tv, are functioning just fine; the problem is exclusive to youtube.

Even after doing a downgrade to 66.0.4 I am experiencing the same problem.

Chosen solution

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}

Ah, I see. It was in fact one of my add-ons, specifically one that allows me to block video suggestions from specific users on youtube. Thanks for the tip!

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
