If I restart in safe mode the flash of a white window doesnt happen... I then relaunched firefox in normal mode and checked for any extensions/add on etc... but there arent any for me to close...and I havent any added tool bars etc.. Cant see anything in options that I can change. Does anyone have a complete full list of what isnt activated in safe mode...In other words a list of all the settings that are affected when launching in safe mode. Since this has only started happening since 62.0 update... recent new code settings must be causing this....and safe mode appears to turn these code changes off..

Hello,

The Refresh feature (called "Reset" in older Firefox versions) can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your bookmarks, history, passwords, cookies, and other essential information.

Note: When you use this feature, you will lose any extensions, toolbar customizations, and some preferences. See the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article for more information.

To Refresh Firefox:

  1. Open the Troubleshooting Information page using one of these methods:
    • Click the menu button New Fx Menu, click help Help-29 and select Troubleshooting Information. A new tab containing your troubleshooting information should open.
    • If you're unable to access the Help menu, type about:support in your address bar to bring up the Troubleshooting Information page.
  2. At the top right corner of the page, you should see a button that says "Refresh Firefox" ("Reset Firefox" in older Firefox versions). Click on it.
  3. Firefox will close. After the refresh process is completed, Firefox will show a window with the information that is imported.
  4. Click Finish and Firefox will reopen.

Ive tried your suggestion before with no luck...But gave it another go...however still no luck... There must be code added in version 62.00 that is causing this to happen... The only way to find the cause would be to compare the new code with the code in previous version. It doesnt happen in safe mode ..therefore safe mode cant be allowing all the new code settings to run...

perhaps my old pentium 3 processor and old graphics card cant handle the extra demand put on them with the latest build (extra sessions that now appear to open in background with 62.0 are perhaps its slowing down my window fresh rate and a symptom of this is that I observe the white window flash )? ..
