I am testing my own site. Where I need to log in with different User Accounts in order to check that aspect of IIS.

Firefox only allows me to log in with one account - visiting that site again just automatically logs in with that same account. It doesn't present me with the log in fields. And, of course, a browser doesn't have a 'log out' button does it?

I want to be presented with the log in fields each time I go there, so's I can log in as a different user.

So I found a thread here that was similar, talking about someone with the opposite problem - constantly being logged out. And the answer was in about:preferences and such. Well I couldn't follow that trail because about:preferences didn't bring up the options that thread talked about.

I suppose the answer is a cookies thing. I'd like to resolve this without having to delete all cookies. If I can.

I called for more help.

The users 'logged-in' status is kept in a special cookie. The user selects (on the website) to log out, and that cookie is removed.

Did you save the login data in the Password Manager? Remove it.

Also, you did log out, yes?

I didn't log out. There's nowhere to log out.

I didn't save any passwords anywhere.

Just checked Avast to make sure and it's saved nothing for the site.

My thought is that i need to be able to find that cookie. If there's no setting for it.

That thread I mentioned was indicating a way but it was via options that don't appear for me when I use about:preferences.

You should put something on your website that lets a user log out.

There is a way to log out by removing the 'login' cookies. But I don't know how it would be named.

What you could do is remove all the cookies for that site.

It's okay. I fixed it. Just needed to disable remember logins for that site.

Well I think that should fix it but it hasn't yet. I can't get a login screen yet. Keep getting the first screen after login.

That might be that browser thing where they keep throwing up the last page they had for a site... shutdown and restart firefox might fix it I think......

Well it would be if it worked, Fred. But it hasn't.

I start up Firefox and I get a log in screen. I log in and then I close that tab. Best I can do to get out of it.

Then open a new tab and go to that URL again.

No log in screen. It has automatically logged in. Or is serving me up its memory of the last page.

Or IIS is seeing it as a continuation of the previous transaction.

Or something.

I do think that's the end of what I can do with firefox though. I've told it not to remember anything about that site. I've removed all cookies from it.

Isn't it possible to logout of that website with a logout button to clear session data?

Maybe open a Private Browsing mode window to test the page and close all PB mode windows to clear the login data. You can also use "Clear Recent History" to clear the last hour to have a fresh start. Or use the Cookie Manager or Storage Inspector to clear specific data.

Yep, that'll do as a work around. Using Private Browsing I mean. Failing a config setting that stops all this happening.

You know I'm sure I used to be able to just log in different users on tab after tab on firefox. Kidding myself maybe?
