This is more of a feedback message since having just updated firebug to the latest. I use firebug everyday for my daily work. The latest update doesn't seem as "intelligent" as it used to be.

The two big issues I see that would actually make me move to another developer tool because it's become a nuisance are:

1. When I right click over an item on the page and select "inspect with Firebug" the console opens, but not with the specific item I was hovering on top of inspected in the code. It goes straight to the body tag. It never used to do this. I used to right click over an item and the item would be immediately highlighted in the code when the firebug window opened.

2. in the past, with firebug already open, I would be able to but my cursor over an item and right click and select "inspect with firebug and the firebug window would immediately highlight the code on what I was just looking at. Now if I do with firebug already opened, firebug just closes.

obviously I am just one person and this is how I use firebug but I wanted to give my feedback as someone who has used this tool every work day for the past (at least) 6 years. I'm not a fan of this update.

From the Firebug website:

The Firebug extension isn't being developed or maintained any longer.
We invite you to use the Firefox DevTools instead, which ship with Firebug.next
