Please stop interrupting a page I am on to notify me of an update - please use a new tab.

A big orange page with the Firefox logo interrupts whatever I may be doing to notify me of some urgent update. It is EXTREMELY annoying and may cause problems with the page I'm using. Can the notice please be sent to a new tab instead, or even an email to me about it?

hi Sanspur, this is a fake notification that is trying to trick you into installing malware & certainly no genuine message by firefox (firefox updates happen automatically in the background hassle-free)! we suspect that these fraudulent messages are spread through ads placed on legitimate websites, so i'd recommend installing an adblocking addon like https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

Thank you for your reply. I'm glad to know I needn't install - because it interrupts what I'm doing by pasting its page on top of everything, I always opt to 'cancel' & just get rid of it.
