Colorful Tabs Add-on not working, tabs are transparent
Update until a few days ago, Colorful Tabs add-on was working and now it isn't. Now the table are about 90% transparent except for the tab you have open and it is a light color and is about 50% transparent. I really liked those colorful tabs and definitely want them back. I could not find a way to contact the developer so I hope someone here has a solution for me.
I've looked at the other articles mentioning this same problem but their solutions do not solve my problem. Thanks for your help.
I'm using a Toshiba laptop, 64-bit, running Windows 10 Home, 8gb memory. I just updated to Firefox version 44 but this was also happening on the previous version 43.0.4. I thought upgrading to the more current version might solve the problem, but no such luck.
Chosen solution
I did contact the developer but haven't heard back yet.
Then after many hours of experimentation, I discovered that Colorful Tabs has stopped working with any Themes in Firefox. So something has changed in the way they work together, or in this case don't. I have used them together, with not problems, for almost a year prior to the recent release. So I just won't have Firefox Themes as I really like the Colorful Tabs. It does still work with Windows Themes, and Slideshows, and background colors. But I don't think those are as pretty as what is available in Firefox, except for the Slideshows where I am using my own pictures rather than stuff supplied by Microsoft.
I guess this one is as solved as it's going to get.

Try the CTR extension and look at the Tab color setting(s) in the CTR Options/Preferences.
I tried the Class Theme Restorer but basically only the tab that is active is a different color. I liked the Colorful Tabs because each tab was a different color and the color of the tab didn't change. If I had 20 tabs open I could remember which page was on which color tab even if I added additional tabs or moved the tabs around. The text on the tabs is often not definitive enough to tell me what is on the page and if the you have a lot of tabs open you may only have a few letters of text. The different colors on each tab worked great.
So back to my original question, how can I get Colorful Tabs to work on Firefox version 44?
If the extension isn't working for you in the current release then you need to contact its developer/creator for support, but it looks that the extension has been abandoned because non of the support links work.

I installed the extension in a new profile on Linux and it still works for me there.

I couldn't tell from the picture. Are you also using a Firefox Theme while using Colorful Tabs? I believe there is some kind of conflict that prevents Colorful Tabs from working when you also have a Theme. I attached pictures showing how the Colorful Tabs disappear when I also have a Theme. As you can see without a Theme the Colorful Tabs are brightly colored. When I install a Theme, the Colorful Tabs practically disappear, except for the screen that is active.
That was in a profile with the default theme. It is never guaranteed that an extension works flawlessly with all themes, so you will always have to check that out.
