Firefox "update and restart" done on 9/13/16. Ever since, get "Unresponsive Plugin" error message constantly blinking and can not click on anything on web pages. Just hung up. Checked other suggestions on FF and uninstalled Flash, shut down, restart is ok until you want to view any type of video clip. Did new install of Flash, and constant blinking error message starts up again. This is not a problem with Internet Explorer. Also, the same problem/error message happened about same time on laptop as desk top computer. Must be Firefox and Flash conflict? Using Win 8.1 on desk top and Win 10 on laptop. Firefox 99% used on both. Help, someone? I tried the suggestions I read on FF and problem persisted. I'm just an old gal here trying my best. =/

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Thank you Fred McD! I have automatic updates on Windows but discovered some optional updates through Control Panel --> System --> Windows Update. One of which was Intel Graphics Adapter Update. Did the restart and activate Flash Player. Checked various video clips from various sources and all worked fine. Went back and put Flash Player on "always activate" from "ask to activate" and still all fine. Hopefully that's the end of it! Will perform same instructions on laptop and check. Thank you very much!!! Oldladyme

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.

The Windows Updater does not update everything unless you use the Check For Updates link. I check every few days.
