Why doesn't the Feedjit widget work in FF 31.0
Feedjit is not showing on any blogs when I am using FF 31.0 but it shows up in all the other browsers. Is this a Firefox problem or a Feedjit problem? Feedjit worked fine until I upgraded to 31.0

I'm getting the feed on this page: http://feedjit.com/
Maybe blogs that use it are not as up-to-date, or there is another reason that they are not loading... Can you link to a site that uses this widget?
The feedjit widget shows on blogs when using Safari or Chrome or any other browser EXCEPT FF 31.0. Feedjit was showing on all blogs this morning before I upgraded Firefox...So it appears it must be a FF problem - FF 31.0 is blocking the widget somehow. Accessing feedjit.com is not a problem. The widget is not showing on blogs that have it installed ONLY IN FIREFOX - that's the problem (http://dragonsalley.blogspot.com)
Edit: This post only applies when Flash is blocked on the page. If Flash is allowed, this is incorrect.
The good news is, it loads for me, so hopefully it is working for your Windows-using visitors.
Here are "the usual" recommendations:
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Command+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
"3-bar" menu button (or Firefox menu) > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
- right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
- (menu bar) Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode.
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
- (menu bar) Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
Any difference?

Oops, my bad, once I allow Flash on the page, Feedjit doesn't load any content. Now... what is that all about? Hmm...
I can't figure it out.
With Flash not allowed, there is a delay of several seconds before the Feedjit script fetches the data. With Flash allowed, it never fetches the data.
Because there are hundreds of changes in each Firefox release, it is difficult to know where it is falling down without help from Feedjit.
My only other suggestion at this point would be to regenerate your widget from Feedjit's site to see whether that makes a difference.
I solved the problem myself - I replaced FF 31.0 with FF 28.0 and now everything works fine. The answer is DO NOT TO DOWNLOAD NEW FF UPDATES!
In case others reading this thread are not aware of the possible risks of using older versions of Firefox, please be advised that Mozilla discloses security flaws after each new release. You will have to make your own judgment about whether it makes sense to incur that risk to achieve the functionality you want.
Then FF is not all that and a bag of chips, is it? If simple little things like a feedjit widget doesn't work then FF is lacking...and users have options these days, lots of options.
I submitted this to Feedjit's contact page. I'll be curious to see what they come up with:
Subject: iframe doc blank in Firefox 31 with Flash enabled
Comment: It's mysterious: if I block Flash, after a timeout, I get the feed. If it allow Flash, I never get the feed and the iframe contains about:blank.
logdata for Flash allowed:
"347: Executing callback #0<br />345: Flash loaded succesfully!<br />TFeed: 8: Widget is visible<br />TFeed: 8: in addOnFlash() flash has not loaded yet, so queueing callback<br />8: Adding callback for TFeed<br />TFeed: 5: Starting TFeed widget creation<br />"
logdata for Flash blocked:
"10010: Executing callback #0<br />10010: WARNING: fjit.flashLoaded() called through timeout - Flash did not load.<br />TFeed: 9: Widget is visible<br />TFeed: 8: in addOnFlash() flash has not loaded yet, so queueing callback<br />8: Adding callback for TFeed<br />TFeed: 6: Starting TFeed widget creation<br />"

Hi All,
I'm the founder of Feedjit, Mark Maunder. Looks like the newest version of Firefox was not playing nicely with some legacy flash code we had. So we've yanked the code because we're migrating away from using that.
Feedjit should work now in Firefox version 31.0 and all other modern versions of Firefox. We've tested it in our lab on OS X and Windows and have verified the fix.
If you could confirm that this is fixed for you, I'd appreciate it. Let me know if anyone has any further issues.
Kind regards,
Mark.
@dragonsalley Just wanted you to know I tested your site in FF 31.0 on Mac and it works for me.
On my test page, it seems much faster now. Thanks for the fix.
Yay - Thank you for fixing that. I just downloaded FF31.0 based on your post and everything works fine, Thank you Mark of Feedjit
