Firefox randomly returns back to previous page under Kubuntu 14.04 - 17.04. Noticed this problem about a year ago. Thought that was a bug in OS or smth. else. After a while bought second laptop - the same thing happened with Firefox. Now using Kubuntu as a guest OS on windows machine - on windows Firefox works fine, on Kubuntu - randomly returns back. This happens during forms filling. No addons are installed. OS: Kubuntu 14.04 - 17.04 Firefox ver: 54.0

Suppose I've found the problem: several years ago FireFox team "kindly" introduced a new feature - return back page when clicked on mouse middle button. Set all options in "about:config" for "mousewheel.*.action" with value 2 to -1 Will see if it helps.

Note that "Do nothing" would be 0 for mousewheel.*action prefs (override_x prefs are -1 by default).

There are other middlemouse.* prefs on about:config that you may want to look at.
