Keyboard stops responding

My keyboard quits responding in Firefox. Only Firefox is affected. I can hit "Win+R" then run notepad from the run dialog box as soon as it occurs.

I recently reinstalled Windows from scratch on this computer. About a day or two later, I set up accessibility settings that I hadn't used before. Here are the specific settings that I'm aware of having changed:

- Set high-contrast mode - Turned on the purple arrows that appear above and below the text cursor - Enlarged the mouse and set it to use inverted colors - Installed Chinese Simplified and Traditional IME's (specifically, pinyin and zhuyin). (Switching the keyboard to English has no effect when the problem is occurring.)

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and the problem recurred almost immediately.

Any ideas?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hello! I opened it in safe mode (or "troubleshooting mode") and it worked normally for several minutes then started having the problem again.

I turned off the text cursor indicator (the purple arrows that appear above and below the text cursor) from the Windows control panel and the problem seems to have stopped.

When the problem has been happening, the text cursor continues blinking in whatever text box it's in and the web pages are still active, but it stops responding to keyboard input and mouse clicks.

Thank you for your help! If it helps, I can post screenshots and what not.

I turned off the text cursor indicator

Leave it off for now. If the problem does not return in a few days, Well Done.
