How do I turn-off that annoying drop-down box with the gold key that asks me if I want Firefox to save the password?

You know what drop-down box I'm talking about. When I sign-in to an existing account, that box drops down, covering links I want to click on, asking me AGAIN if I want to save the password for 'this' [whatever site I'm on] site. NO, I DON'T! If I wanted to save the darn password, I would have clicked 'yes' about 1,000 sign-ins ago! Stop already with the asking me.! This 'gold key' feature just doesn't get it. It is a huge nusiance. Why isn't there a box to click that says "DON'T ASK ME AGAIN"?

Ya I know the box your talking about, don't you people ever read the instructions.

Well go up to the menu and open up Tools/Options/Security and shut it off if you don't want it to ask.

And that little box you keep clicking to say NO, did you happen to notice there is an arrow there, click it and click don't ask me again.

And I am not going to come over there and do it for you.

Dear DPMR: The general rule for answering questions on the Internet is that you either get to be a snarky jerk, or you get to be wrong, but you don't get to be both.

In this case, not only were you a rude, condescending Tool, but you were completely incorrect, at least for Mac users. It's Firefox>Preferences>Security for Mac people.

How about next time you just don't answer if answering is going to inconvenience you so much.

DPMR was condescending, AND wrong, YES! Doesn't make any difference how many times you click on the little arrow "Never remember password for this site". Every time you sign in to that site, there the question, gold key and all, is again.

Do not use Clear Recent History to clear the "Site Preferences".

Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
