Downgraded from FF4 Need help with taskbar icon please
I hate FF4! DL'd it this morning & hate it! I wasn't sure how to uninstall FF4 but I did download & install version 3.16. That's alright for now but when I right click on the FireFox icon located at the bottom of the screen (in the taskbar, next to the Media Player icon for Windows 7) it has the option to Start Private Browsing.
Long ago I added Menu Editor to safeguard against the use of Private Browsing. When are these MORONS gonna realize that Private Browsing doesn't need to be available in flashing lights on a family PC?! How do I get rid of the right clicked option for Start Private Browsing? (I need step by step instructions please!)
Or can someone direct me to a browser that prohibits editing the history or use of private browsing? (there is no need for private browsing except to hide something--not cool on a family PC)

Hello? Anyone? This is ridiculous!! With private browsing options screaming at you on all the available browsers, you'd think they were all created by a bunch of 18 yr olds trying to hide something from their moms & girlfriends.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME?
For anyone else with same problem, I posted this question to another forum.
According to a couple of forum posts I read, if you navigate to your Firefox components folder, usually something like "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\components\", you'll find a file called "nsPrivateBrowsingService.js". Deleting that file will stop private browsing from working. Apparently the menu options will still be there but it just won't work.
Might be the solution you're after. The kids can possibly still activate private browsing while remaining blissfully unaware they're not browsing privately at all. Of course it'll only work until they realise they can manually delete the browsing history anyway....
This totally works. Just go to Computer (in Windows 7) and click on drive C. CLick on Program Files and find the file labeled nsprivate Browsing service. Delete it. When I right clicked on the icon in the taskbar, a new window opened, i ran a search, clicked around a website and it was all remembered in History.
What's more, for a small piece of mind, the Yahoo tool bar remembers all searches and how long ago it was made. At least if the search history has been cleared, you can ask household members "Why?" and know something is up.
