Syncing browsers
Syncing of browsers means losing your bookmarks on the second computer. All I wanted was to sync a password for access to a program.

You lost your bookmarks? That's not good. You may need to restore one of the automatic backups. Check out the steps in the following article:
Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer
You also can adjust the categories of data you Sync if you only care about logins. See:
