Hey, Bookmark button is still present on Firefox 87.0, could you attach a screen shot where it is not present?
You may have accidentally removed the star via the right-click context menu (Remove from Address Bar). You can find items like "Take a Screenshot" and the Bookmark Star in the drop-down menu that opens if you click the "Page actions" button (3-dot icon at the right end of the location/address bar). You can right-click an item in the 3-dot "Page actions" drop-down list to add its button to the location bar for easy access.
i cant get rid of it as the remove option does not show . the blue star is pointless
Hi trev
In 89+ it is no longer possible to remove or hide the star in the location bar, either via the right-click context menu or via customize mode. You can possibly use code in userChrome.css to hide this button.
Add code to the userChrome.css file below the default @namespace line.
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ #star-button {display:none!important;} #star-button[starred] {}
It is not that difficult to create userChrome.css if you have never used it.
The first step is to open the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" page and find the button to access the profile folder.
You can find this button under the "Application Basics" section as "Profile Folder -> Open Folder". If you click this button then you open the profile folder in the Windows File Explorer. You need to create a folder with the name chrome in this folder (name is all lowercase). In the chrome folder you need to create a plain text file with the name userChrome.css (name is case sensitive). In this userChrome.css text file you paste the text posted. On Mac you can use the TextEdit utility to create the userChrome.css file as a plain text file.
In Windows saving the file is usually the only time things get more complicated because Windows can silently add a .txt file extension and you end up with a file named userChrome.css.txt. To avoid this you need to make sure to select "All files" in the dialog to save the file in the text editor using "Save File as".
You need to close (Quit/Exit) and restart Firefox when you create or modify the userChrome.css file.

In Firefox 69 and later you need to set this pref to true on the about:config page to enable userChrome.css and userContent.css in the chrome folder.
- toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets = true
oh great , so i cant get rid of it unless i use chrome css , which i have no idea about . bloody crap again ,why does firefox double up on stuff , bookmark this page is just above the blue star so what is the point in 2 things doing the same thing , and cant delete the one i wont use . was any thought put into the new look at all ? sorry but this latest update is complete shyte . all so ff can get users who left back and sod the users who stayed , and who is to say the users that left will come back anyway , i wouldnt come back to this shyte . after update 90 , which no doubt be a total waste of time and full of pointless crap again , i will see what is what and go elsewhere .
