Firefox 78.0.1 Tab Crashing
After updating from 77 to 78.0.1, I've experienced a large number of tab crashes ("Gah. Your tab just crashed.") across multiple sites. No crash logs are available in about:crashes. I've tried:
- Starting in safe mode
- Refreshing Firefox
- disabling security software (Webroot SecureAnywhere)
- Disabling hardware acceleration
- Making sure latest drivers and Windows updates are installed
- Run Windows system file checker tool (no errors found)
I use Firefox with screen reading software, so it is possible the issue may be accessibility related. I've tested with JAWS and Windows Narrator and experience the tab crashes under both.
OS is Windows 10 Version 1909 (OS Build 18363.900)

Hi again acawai:
I believe your problem is solved in Firefox 79. You can wait until Firefox 79 is released on July 28th or test it now by downloading Firefox 79 beta here:

We have recently seen multiple reports that Bitdefender is causing issues with tab crashes in Firefox 73.
It looks that Bitdefender has pushed an update to address this issue 21 Feb 2020
Thanks. I've gone through the troubleshooting steps in the article but wasn't able to stop or identify the cause of the crashes. Bitdefender is not installed on my computer.
Have you noticed any kind of pattern?
Try using only one tab at a time. Any problem?
About how long are you online before the crash?
Crashes still occur if only one tab is open.
If a tab will crash, it does so shortly (within 15 seconds) after being opened. I haven't noticed that a crash is more likely the longer Firefox has been running.
Use these links to create a new profile. Use this new profile as is. Is the problem still there?

Type about:profiles<enter> in the address bar.
Yes, still happens using new profile. I also tried uninstalling/reinstalling again, but no luck.
I called for more help.
FWIW: still crashing after updating to 78.0.2
HI acawai:
1. is it possible for you to try Firefox without JAWS and Windows Narrator enabled? if so does it still crash? 2. Assuming you can't do 1. or it still crashes with JAWS and Windows Narrator disabled, could you please post the output of about:support to help us troubleshoot further?
Cheers!

I tried turning off all screen readers and then opening Firefox to a page which crashes consistently. With all screen readers off, Firefox did not crash.
