When I connect my computer to my wireless headphones, all the sounds from programs and audios I play on all the other browsers (chrome, edge, opera, etc) are automatically played via the connected/paired headphones. When I play audio or watch youtube on Firefox, the sound plays directly on my computer's speakers. It's as if no headphones were connected at all.

I opened up the volume mixer and included screenshots below. On the left, when I'm not connected to the headphones, the sound plays via the speakers and you can clearly see mozilla's audio levels in green are ok. When I connect the headphones (middle photo) the sound still plays via the speakers but there are two firefoxes and one is playing audio, the other is not. I don't know why there are two, I only have one tab open. Lastly, when I switch the audio device to headphones, Firefox completely disappears from the list of applications playing audio. I opened up other browsers and played audio in each and they are listed in the applications, as you can see in the last photo. They are actively playing audio as indicated by the green audio levels and I can hear them via the headphones. Firefox on the other hand, is still playing via my computer's speakers.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Firefox is my main browser so it's tedious to have to open another browser when I want to watch youtube or listen to something.

Is Firefox already running when you connect those headphones to your PC?

If so, try restarting Firefox after the headphones are connected to your PC. Does that work to make the headphones work and appear in the Volume Mixer?

Just a hunch about something similar that I experienced a number of years ago with Firefox.

Hi, yep it was already running so I tried what you've suggested. While it did make Firefox appear in the volume mixer, the audio still played via the speakers. There was no response from Firefox about the audio levels when I switch the Device in the mixer from speaker to headphones, but the System Sounds are clearly playing via my headphones because the green audio level in the mixer keeps spiking up and down. It's dead on the Firefox app though....

That's all I have for suggestions.
