I want to download my email messages off my provider's server and onto my computer. I don't want the messages to remain on the providers server.
How do I set up Thunderbird to download my email messages from my provider's server, and then delete them from that server? I want the email messages to only appear on my computer.

Use POP3 and not IMAP.
