Used to attend webinars easily at on24.com, ipvideotalk.com, gotomeeting.com, etc. Lately (Firefox 60 on openSuse 15 KDE) I no longer can attend in full. Gotomeeting may or may not display slides, never the audio. on24 opened a presentation today to the first slide of a webinar but nothing updated and there was no audio. The on24 demo didn't play or allow me to register. Zoom continues to work well. I've reviewed what's blocked by NoScript and Privacy Badger--those apps seem to allow what's needed. Badger blocks cookies only from google analytics; all other trackers are "eaten" (yellow). Any domain in NoScript that presents a red box has that item checked to grant permission (with the same exception). Is this problem possibly related to the incorrect display of web pages that happens too often? I refer to text that overruns images, text that's partly hidden, etc. Any help appreciated. Thanks

Hi, unfortunately it is a constantly changing place out there and when a block happens they find away around it and it goes on....

So with that thought it now seems that you may have to allow some 3rd party cookies and some of the things you are blocking.

To make sure please try : SAFE MODE

In Firefox Safe mode these changes are effective:

  • all extensions are disabled (about:addons)
  • default theme is used (no persona)
  • userChrome.css and userContent.css are ignored (chrome folder)
  • default toolbar layout is used (file: localstore-safe.rdf)
  • Javascript JIT compilers are disabled (prefs: javascript.options.*jit)
  • hardware acceleration is disabled (Options > Advanced > General)
  • plugins are not affected
  • preferences are not affected

TEST''''is issue still there ?

The last part see if it clears up with the above. If not : please try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Next time you see that, try posting an example screenshot. Also, if you get any secure connection errors, let's explore that potential issue.

Of course, general suggestions to try when a site stops working normally:

Double-check content blockers: Firefox's Tracking Protection feature and extensions that counter ads and tracking may break websites that weren't built to operate normally without the blocked components.

Do you see a shield icon toward the left end of the address bar, near the lock icon? More info on managing the Tracking Protection feature in this article: What happened to Tracking Protection?.

Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix should provide toolbar buttons to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you may need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.

Cache and Cookies: When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.

(1) Clear Firefox's Cache

See: How to clear the Firefox cache

If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.

(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:

  • right-click (on Mac Ctrl+click) a blank area of the page and choose View Page Info > Security > "Clear Cookies and Site Data"
  • (menu bar) Tools > Page Info > Security > "Clear Cookies and Site Data"
  • click the padlock or "i" icon in the address bar, then the ">" button, then More Information, and finally the "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button

In the dialog that opens, you will see one or more matches to the current address so you can remove the site's cookies individually without affecting other sites.

Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

Testing in Firefox's Safe Mode: In its Safe Mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.

You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • (menu bar) Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?

Again on24.com webinar opened but didn't play sound or slides. Cleared cookies from on24; went into safe mode; confirmed I have the latest version of Flash Player (30.0.0-134 from openSuse) with no change in behavior. Enabled Flash from plugins and from the icon in the address bar. Allowed tracking by on24. Unchecked the blocking function on Flash. Nothing. Just realized I didn't clear the entire cache, only from on24. Will try clearing more next time. Will capture screen shots of overlapping display and forward. Odd to me, my machine fails the OS test for compatibility at on24 but the test clip plays both audio and video.

Hi, you may have just typo'd wrong version # for Flash Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.154 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/

They have no such thing as Support that I can find : https://www.on24.com/site-map/

These 3 can block content : NoScript 10.1.8.16 Privacy Badger 2018.8.1 WebRTC Control 0.1.9 Turn them off next time.
