I've just updated my Thunderbird installation to the latest version (52.9.0 (32-bit)), and now when I detach any attachments from a message the body of the message becomes completely corrupted (see the screenshot).

Please could someone tell me how I can roll-back to the previous version (which was working fine) and also how long it will take for this problem to be fixed.

This is a regression in TB 52.9.0. It is being worked on. When a fix will be available is impossible to say at this time. Hopefully it won't take long. For the time being you can download and install 52.8.0 again. Pick your OS and language. https://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/52.8.0/
