I want to be able to choose "insert SIGNATURE" from the Insert Menu. It doesn't seem to have this option....please advise. (I have already created a signature, and clicked "include on forwarding emails" selection, but I would still like this option please.

You do not use Insert to attach a signature that's why the option is not available.

If you clicked on 'Write' and created the signature, then saved as a HTML file, you can attach this html signature file in the Account Settings.

Tools > Account Settings or right click on mail account name in folder pane and select ; Settings

  • Select the account name
  • select : 'attach the signature from a file instead (text. HTML or image)'
  • click on 'Choose' button
  • locate and select the HTML file and click on 'Open'
  • click on OK to save changes.

Then, when you click on 'Write' to compose an email, the signature will be auto appended to the email.

If you have several signatures and you would like to be able to select the appropriate signture for that email, there is an addon you can use.

downlaod .xpi file to desktop or downloads fodler.

In thunderbird Tools > addons click on gear wheel icon and select: Install addon from file locate the file you downloaded and click on Open you may need to restart thunderbird.

then you can add a signature button to toolbar. In Write window View > toolbars > customise drag signature icon onto toolbar. click on 'Done' to close.
