DNS Error-cant find hmit.ww.msn.com. Where and how do I edit this to www.msn.com
Generally I use Mozilla to access my Hotmail account. On signing out of Hotmail the browser defaults to www.msn.com Recently tis has not been the case and I get the following error message:- DNS Error - server cannot be found. Can't find hmit.ww.msn.com (Note only one "w") Obviously the correct address should be www.msn.com but where and how do I edit this "hmit.ww.msn.com"

Hi,
probably an ISP DNS server error, It doesn't resolve hmit.ww.msn.com (this is a valid host however). Change your primary DNS in your network adapter settings and use Google Public DNS (It's ip address is 8.8.8.8 and I'm sure that this dns is configured correctly). Now clear local resolver cache; open a command prompt and type:
ipconfig /flushdns or simply reboot pc.
Bye

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Hi cor-el,
Cleared the cache and cookies as you suggested but still the same problem ie: when I sign out of 'hotmail' my browser trys to default to msn.com but displays the DNS error " Can't find hmit.ww.msn.com" Further suggestions would be appreciated. Regards - natkin
Hi all,
I have exactly the same problem. Everytime that I log out of hotmail using firefox the page crash showing: Firefox can't find the server at hmit.ww.msn.com.
i deleted all the history, cookies, etc and the problem remains.
This is happening since the upgrade.
Any Ideas? Solutions? I think that I will be moving to Chrome instead :( .
