I have Bullguard installed as my Firewall. Whenever Firefox updates I can no longer get Firefox to open. Bullguard is not in the list of Firewalls for which I have been able to find correction instructions, so what do I do? It is a MAJOR pain to have to contemplate uninstalling and reinstalling each time - this never happened with AntiVir. What is wrong?

This happened

Not sure how often

As soon as I installed Bullguard.

User Agent

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; Sky Broadband; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

See Bullgard support for help with that issue, they are responsible for supporting their product and their users. If that was a more popular application the "Firewalls" page in the Help section would have some information as a courtesy to Firefox users, but unfortunately that isn't the case.

They probably aren't updating their "definition" data base fast enough to automatically allow the new versions of Firefox as they are being released. IMO, AntiVir probably pays more attention to when an impending Firefox update is about to occur, they "plan ahead" and aren't leaving their users in the lurch when the update does actually happen.

Bullguard should ask for permission to access internet if it detects a change (update) to one of the programs. If Bullguard recognizes the program then that happens automatically, but otherwise you need to allow Firefox. You can check the rules in the Firewall and make sure that Firefox is trusted and allowed full access access.
