When adding gmail account in Thunderbird (Windows10) it stalls when checking password.

IMAP has been enabled in Gmail. After entering name, gmail-address and password (remember me) the incoming & outgoing servers are shown (the are correct). When clicking Continue -> the password checking is stalled. I have done the same thing with a Linux client and it works OK ... only Windows10 client seems to be the problem.
