Fake Firefox?
So. I was intended to open a gif file at my desktop, but instead of opening up at the place where usual Firefox should be at (Blue marker) it shown into a new window and occupied the new space (assumed it is another program but with same appearance.)
I am suspecting that this is a trap, because I had already set the Firefox as my default browser long before but this "fake" Firefox still telling me to set it as default browser, which is fishy.
I used the Malware Scanner to scan whether there is virus or not, but it seemed that there's nothing around. I am not sure what to do, please give me some assistance for this.

Note: This "fake" Firefox only occurs if you don't open any Firefox windows, because usually the Firefox will automatically add a tab to your current session.

Haven't encountered an issue like that before, but I know what you can try to remove the issue. Firstly, find the file location and uninstall the files, just simply delete them manually. If you get a pop-up that the process is in use, you can use either RKill to kill it or open up Task Manager and try to find the processes and services manually to stop them.
After successful deletion, do a full scan with anti-virus solution of your choice. Moreover, scan with Malwarebytes, AdwCleaner, and Hitman Pro. Multiple anti-malware scanners will give you a more thorough clean and confirmation that malware was removed.
Lastly, use CCleaner to remove any bad registry or cached files.
In theory, this should clean up any threats. However, if it still appears, I would recommend restarting Windows in "Safe Mode" with networking and repeating the steps. Good luck!

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)

Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
