Sent folder stopped working 4 weeks ago?

Using Win 10 on laptop. Imap.googlemail. Sent shows on web and other android devices using gmail. sent messages just stopped 6th May. Have redownloaded Thunderbird and checked local folder settings. At 70 yrs I am getting near end of my techo expertise. Have spent hours looking thru FAQs. Hopefully simple answer that I have overlooked. Need help now. Regards, Chris

For some odd reason it just started to work again - including the spell check which was also not working. I had given up and just waiting on suggestions from forum. Must be psychic!
