Can't stop video's from autoplaying
Even if I did not have a metered internet connection I would still hate websites with autoplay videos. I used to just stop going to those websites but now that more and more sites do it, it is hard to avoid. My monthly data usage has spiked in the last year.
I have toggled both plugins.click_to_play and media.autoplay.enabled to FALSE. Neither of these solutions has worked. I did restart Firefox after doing it and I also tried restarting my computer as well. My test is to go to CNN.COM and click on a story. I still get the annoying autoplay videos.
Is there something else I can try?

I found this on another site and it worked for me. So I thought I would update here so others would know.
"enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named plugins.click_to_play. double-click it and change its value to true. then you can go to tools > addons > plugins and set flash or other plugins to "always ask". afterwards you will be notified in the address bar or in the content area like with the flashblock-extension when there's plugin content on a page & you can activate it with one click..."

hello, you could try the following addon together with click-to-play: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/click-to-play-per-element/
This is what I use;
Flash block {web link} Never be annoyed by a Flash animation again! Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on it
