the emoji does not work amny that I have do not work

You would have to ask the addon authors why they decided not to update their add-ons. Mozilla changed the whole add-on scheme, and Thunderbird had no choice but to follow suit. To have supported the old add-ons once Mozilla removed the code for supporting them from the core, was more than the Thunderbird developers could do.

The numbers of add-ons for 68 is increasing and will continue to increase. But the old add-ons were the result of about a decade of one off authors releasing add-ons that sometimes still worked without modification until now. 1- or 20 versions after the original version of Thunderbird they were designed for.

If you were to update to using Windows 10 you would have emoji built into windows. simply by pressing Windows key and period / full stop or Windows key and colon

i had updated to 68 and in the emoji side bar there is nothing no emojis none in address bar or tool bar either. went up to the view and tools it said emoji but nothing was shiwn did not go tot he letter i was writing

the side bar where emojis should be is blank.. However i di not totally remove or reinstall thunder bird i just updated over it and did not remove or delete the old emoji add on
