I use FF ver 26 to monitor 12 D-Link java web cameras, each in a separate window. I'd like to be able to stop the streaming by choosing Work Offline in the file menu but the video keeps streaming. Other websites won't load. These cameras are at my home and I access them by entering my home IP. I'd like a simple method of to disconnect the streaming video without shutting down FF or disconnecting the computer from its network. Any thoughts?

Java probably uses its own connection, so it doesn't have effect if you set Firefox offline.
Try to use the browser settings.

  • Control Panel > Java > General tab > "Network Settings...": "Use browser settings"

I made sure Java was using the browser settings - no change. Another observation: when Work Offline is chosen, the Reload button will reload the entire web page from the camera, not just the video window. Does it matter that the page uses an IP # rather than a web address?
