I have a website that contains both right-to-left (arabic) and left-to-right (latin) characters.

Perhaps significantly, it also contains <span dir="auto">...</span> markup around user-generated content.

AFAICT, support for this markup was added in FF21 - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=548206

Since FF21, this causes the browser to hang. Several people have confirmed this, and I can reproduce it on both Linux and Windows builds.
