After I updated Firefox, it will work until I restart my computer. Then it simply won't open at all and will eventually come up with a blank window that doesn't respond. I've had this issue for months and have simply switched to Google Chrome because I didn't have the time to deal with it anymore. I'm not a novice user and I've tried everything: It won't start in safe mode. I've done a complete clean install, even deleting the profile information. I've checked my firewall and my antivirus programs, and they're not the culprit. I've fully scanned my computer for viruses/malware. My computer is completely up to date.

I don't really know what else to do. It will only work on a fresh install before I restart my computer. There are no crash reports I can give because it's not crashing..It simply won't open. I'm running Windows 7 on a Thinkpad Edge.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

i think i found a solution. I managed to get my firefox to work by first reinstalling firefox, and then opening it without restarting. then i looked at plugins and disable non-essential (essential being flash, shock, silerlight, quicktime, adobe etc). In my case it was trueSuite website login, then i restarted my computer to check if the problem was fixed. And it was fixed... at least for now. Will keep updated if anything happens. Hope this helps.

I have the same exact problem, and i have tried just about anything to try to solve it. As a firefox specialist the person, i would at least expect u to give a valid solution. Not just give random links whose threads don't help, pretending to help find a solution.

How many firewall programs do you have installed on your computer?

How many anti-virus programs?

Is the anti-virus program that you used to scan your computer a freeware, demo, trail version, or full version (requires single or recurring fee)?

Thank you, pthimi! It was the Truesuite plugin! It is working now. Thank you all for your time.

I think pthimi has FINALLY hit the nail on the head. When I checked with Truesuite's site they admitted that there was a conflict with Firefox and their software on Lenovo computers. They said, however, their relationship with Lenovo does not allow them to change their software. But, Lenovo apparently has a fix for this on their site. I haven't checked yet, but I am about to. Thanks for someone finally posting something that is helpfull. Hats off and many thanks to you pthimi !!!
