Java Console is incompatible with Firefox 8.0
My home PC running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 Home Premium has been recently upgraded with Firefox 8.0. As noted, Java Console 7.0.01 is incompatible and is disabled by Firefox 8.0.

When you first install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter you need to restart Firefox twice, once for installation of ACR and the 2nd time for ACR to enable the other extensions.

The Java Console is only needed by Java Developers to debug Java Apps. You can still run Java Applets without the console. I don't know why Firefox is blocking this plugin now though. They either are waiting for Oracle to make necessary changes to the console or just don't want to run it anymore for security or stability reasons.
