Sorry about that, and thanks for reporting it. This sounds like a bug in Firefox. To help us find and fix the bug, could you please let us know which Android device you are using, and which version of Swype? (You can find the Swype version in the "Applications" section of the Settings app. Choose "Manage applications," then tap on "All" and choose Swype from the list.)

Thanks for the reply. It may or may not be a Firefox issue. I did a search and have found the issue cross-posted to the Swype forum: http://forum.swype.com/archive/index.php/t-4207.html?s=58d8d2259030c14a5914d74823ad05f5

At any rate, I am using an HTC Droid Incredible, Android version 2.2. My Swype version number is 3.6.84.26668.t100.26698

Thanks again.

I have the exact same problem. I am running Android 2.3.3 on the Droid X and Swype 3.25.91.31083. The browser is practically worthless with Swype and so far this is the only application I've had trouble with.

I'm having the same issue. It's SUPER annoying. Every time I try to delete a word I just end up giving up and temporarily changing my keyboard while I use Firefox. This is the only reason I've been really considering switching back to the default Android browser.

Anyways...I'm using a HTC EVO 4G running CyanogenMod 7.1.0 RC1 (Android 2.3.4) and my version of Swype is 3.25.91.31127. My version of Firefox is 7.0.1.

We are testing a fix for the problem with the backspace key in Swype: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=672661

If you want to help test the fix, you can try it out in a pre-release version of Firefox from the Aurora channel. Download Aurora from http://www.firefox.com/channel

There are still some other known bugs that affect some versions of Swype, like this one: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=691163

I am having this issue also. Just installed the latest Firefox from Android Market. My phone is a Galaxy S2 running XWKI8 2.3.5 original Samsung firmware updated thru Kies. My Swype version is: 3.25.91.33835.33848.4148.OXX. Hope you fix this soon.
