When I start FF the first time after booting, it starts but won't open another window. If I close FF normally then start it again I get a screen that says:

    ===============================================

Well, this is embarrassing.

Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.

You can try:

   * Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem
   * Starting an entirely new browsing session
==============================================

I have to end the FF process in Task manager to start it again. Another answer to a similar problem in the Forum said to RUN the Firefox profile manager to repair my profile. That doesn't work either because profile manager wants to open a FF window, which results in the same situation as above.

I happened to run Aladdin Systems Spring Cleaning "just because" and this problem seems to have gone away. May have been an errant entry in the Registry or something :)

FireFox 3.6.8 sucks! I removed Firefox from my system, deleted all Firefox folders and did a fresh re-install. Now Firefox is really screwed up. Still has the same problem and now many of the Addons & extensions either won't install at all or don't work if they do happen to install. I'm really screwed now. I guess I'll have to get accustomed to some other browser. :(

I gave up & went to Google Chrome. It has all the features Firefox has or close enough. It's just a matter of breaking old Firefox habits.
