I have been using Firefox for years; I trust and rely on your web Browser and use it almost exclusively. I have been unable to use Firefox on a site that I have used for years. I have also been having trouble signing into other sites as well. I cannot figure out how to fix the problem. I am not a computer expert and it would be great to have someone walk me through what I need to do. HELP!!!!!

Hi Fred! Turning off the AVG and firewall worked!!! Does that mean there is a problem with AVG? Is there something I need to do on that? Thanks again! Karen

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Hello! I clear cookies and cache many times during the day when I am signed in to Firefox because I keep important data on Firefox. This did not help.

I tried logging again, and it just keeps buffering and buffering. I can use Chrome, but I don't like the safety of Chrome and I've come to rely on Firefox for that added protection. It's making me nuts trying to figure out why this happened approximately 4 weeks ago. I've never had a problem signing into this site with Firefox.

Thank you for your time! Karen

Is there a way to speak to a human being?

Have you tried Troubleshoot(Safe) Mode?

Hello! I have cleared cookies and cache several times. I opened the website in Troubleshoot (safe) Mode and I still cannot open the website that I am having trouble opening. I attached a screen shot of the Troubleshoot information, I have absolutely no idea what to do with it. Thank you so much! Karen

Start your Computer in safe mode with network support. Then start Firefox. Try Secure websites. Is the problem still there?

If the problem goes away with the computer in Safe Mode, the problem is with one of the other programs on the system.

As a test, disable your protection programs.

Hi Fred! I contacted Apple because I am still having the problem even with AVG disable and firewall disabled. They had me open a test account and I was able to get into all websites without any problem. Since I am only have this problem with Firefox and computer safety is off; it seems that my problem is with Firefox. I can open the website in safe mode or I can use the test account, but it seems stupid to have to go through those steps to access a locked website. Do you have any other thoughts? What would happen if I delete Firefox and reload it to my computer? Thanks for your time and help!

Reinstalling Firefox would only help if there was a problem with the program files.

Did you mean there is no problem with the computer in Safe Mode?

Hi Fred -Yes, the computer worked fine in safe mode and when I signed in with a test account. How can I find out which program is causing the problem? Thank you!

The only way is to disable each program one at a time between reboots.
