I have a problem that has been driving me nuts for the better part of a year. All of a sudden I can only see one tab preview on the windows taskbar (Windows 10). The strange thing is I have the exact same install (I copied the profile files) on two virtual machines. One is Windows 7 Pro, the other Windows 8.1 Pro. I have the same issue on the Windows 7 machine, but on the Windows 8.1 machine it works as it should. I have added images to show you what I'm talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sorry for the inconvenience. First, go to Options then look for tab options and uncheck the last options as shown in the image.

And if that doesn't work try Resetting Firefox preferences before resetting, make sure you backed up what you need.

Hope, that helps.

Just to clarify, since I don't see an image:

There is a checkbox labeled

[_] Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar

That is the setting which controls whether there is only a preview for the Active tab or, if you check the box, there is a preview for Every tab.

Is that checkbox not working on Windows 7 and Windows 10?

I've tried that with no success. I've even tried creating a new profile with no add-ons and resetting the preferences and it still only shows me one tab.

By default, Firefox only shows previews for the active tab in each open window. Does this checkbox work in the new profile:

[_] Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar

Hello....

Enable Firefox Tab Preview in the Windows Taskbar

  • Open Firefox and select the Firefox >> Options from the orange menu at the top-left.
  • In the Options menu click the Tabs tab and check the box titled Show tab previews in the Windows taskbar. ...
  • Firefox will now display previews of each open tab when you hover over the Firefox icon in the Windows Taskbar.

thank you..

Turn on the Title bar or Bookmarks toolbar

Hi Akash, the user is asking about the Windows Taskbar thumbnails, not a bar inside Firefox.

Hi Ankit, those steps are for Firefox 4-28, which had a different user interface design. When copy/pasting you need to update the steps for the current interface.

Hello   williamstokesberry,

I just checked to see if all of my thumbnails would show up;   only one did (the active tab).

Turned out that on the   about:config  page I had to change the value of this preference :

browser.taskbar.previews.enable   to   true

All thumbnails showed up immediately .....
