As of version 68.4.2 of Android Firefox, I am VERY DISPLEASED with boomark management in this browser.

How is it possible that you cannot reorder, move a bookmark up or down in whatever folder list?

How is it possible that if, as a workaround, I move a bookmark to another folder forth and back, and the @#$% bookmark appears in the same position instead of being inserted top or bottom? No workaround, thus.

Why is the bookmark manager showing a “Switch to tab” message under a bookmark I just added with Android Firefox, but the stuff is not working for other bookmarks (unless I do the same with them)? Look at the self explanatory uploaded screenshot.

Why are bookmarks being inserted atop of the list? Why is the “bookmark manager” unable to remember the last used folder?

If you look at other developers' software, I'm pretty sure you do, Android Chrome has a slick bookmark management. Take note. However, please never do like Chrome which is already infested with stupid animations which cripple the user's experience (it is AWFUL to make a quick search in a crowded webpage or in a webpage's code such way).

Other than this, keep up with the good work. The browser still lacks some performance and Javascript compatibility, as far as I know.

P.S.: This forum doesn't works with a single unix style line terminator (LF). Had to edit and fix the thing with 2x LF.

Hi

Thank you for your question.

We try to make Firefox for Android as small as possible so that many people can use it in a range of different devices. We may be looking at more advanced bookmark management in a future update.

In the meantime you can sync your bookmarks to a desktop copy of Firefox. On organising how you want, Firefox Sync will then reorder them in Firefox for Android.

Seburo, it is hard for me to understand that “we try to make Firefox for Android as small as possible so that many people can use it in a range of different devices” excuse. Desktop browsers have had proper bookmark management for ages already, and you can be sure 15 or 20 years (or more) ago browsers were lighter and run on less powerful machines than even the limpest of nowaday's smartphones in use. I also did some computer program coding long ago, and honestly me and you know adding proper bookmark management code to the browser wouldn't result in any significant file size increase or whatever drawback. It's just about getting the thing done.

I must admit I am a heavy and demanding mobile user, I treat and use my smartphone as much as possible like a desktop and it is unexplainable how under-developed is many of nowaday's mobile software.

Thanks anyway.
