I installed a "weather app" and I hate it. It has taken over all of my firefox and I don't know how to get rid of it.

Isisombululo esikhethiwe

This is on Firefox for Android? Check here:

menu button > Add-ons

tap the unwanted add-on, then tap Uninstall

Success?

If the problem is on a desktop version of Firefox:

You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions.

Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. You can remove the unwanted extension, and also anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why. If in doubt, disable (or remove).

Any improvement?

Dear Jscher2000: Thank you for responding to my question. I can't seem to find it as an Add-on. I looked through my History, but don't know how to get the History to go back as far as the App. was. I'm not sure if I could get rid of it if I did find it in my History, but I thought it was worth a try. If you have any other suggestions, I sure would appreciate them. Shirley

Oh and it is on my Firefox Android.

Hi Shirley, where does the weather page appear in Firefox? Is it on your home page? You can restore the built-in home page, or select another home page, here:

(Firefox) menu button > Settings > General > Home

Or if it's a separate app, try the Android settings to remove it:

(Android) Settings > Apps

Hi Jscher2000: I am sorry that I am being a pain. I found it in Firefox under Top Sites Highlights. It is called "yourweatherwatcher". Wow, I just removed it. Hopefully that took care of it. Thank you for your time and correspondence. Shirley
