My browser keeps opening as mail.ru. How do I remove it?
I tried downloading a game (my fault for wanting to do that really) and mail.ru has been downloaded too as part of that. I certainly don't want it there. I've tried removing it with the Uninstall feature but the final file won't go, and it's made itself the default web page my Mozilla opens to. How can I completely remove it?
I've already removed Add-Ons and got rid of all three that I could see there, but there's clearly still something lingering.

Hi, open the 3-bar menu > Add-ons > Extensions, and look for/remove/disable the malware or anything you don't recognise, because it may be masquerading under a different name.
You can also check your Firefox Desktop shortcut for corruption: Right click on it > Properties, and in Target, make sure there is no sign of anything other than Firefox. If there is, delete that part of it. Or if it's easier, you can just delete it and recreate a new shortcut. More: Wrong home page opens when I start Firefox - How to fix.
Another thing you can do, is to search for the malware in your PC's search box and programs - look for any recently installed programs that you don't recognise, because it may be masquerading under a different name. What is search hijacking?.
Note that Firefox is able to open multiple home pages with the URLs separated by a 'pipe' (|), so please see - How to set the home page, and in 'Home Page,' make sure that in addition to your home page URL, there isn't anything else - if there is, just delete it. (the Firefox start page is about:home but you may have set a different one). If it's easier, you can just click on Restore to Default instead.
If it's in your PC's programs, and Windows can't uninstall it, try using https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:
- Microsoft Safety Scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware

That worked like a charm. I can't see any trace of it left on my computer. In fact, just the free trial of Revo Uninstaller got rid of the stubborn remains of the programme. Thank you!
