How does auto-update work? Firefox Not Auto-Updating with settings set to Auto.
I know I have a vague question, but here are some more to narrow it down. Any help is appreciated.
1. Does Firefox need to be open for Auto-Update to download and install updates? 2. Which setting changes how often auto-update searches for an update? 3. Are the interval/timer settings in seconds or milli-seconds?
The reason I am asking these question is because all of the PCs in our environment have version 48.0.2 installed, which is approx. 1,200 PCs. They are not auto-updating and we would like to fix this so we don't have to do manual updates each time a new version comes out.
The test PC and am working on has the below settings for Auto-Update.
app.update.atuo = true app.update.enabled = true app.update.service.enabled = true app.update.mode = 0 app.update.silent = true app.update.staging enabled = true app.update.interval = 43200 app.update.lastUpdateTime.addon-background-update-timer = 60000 app.update.lastUpdateTime.background-update-timer = 60000 app.update.lastUpdateTime.blocklist-background-update-timer = 60000 app.update.lastUpdateTime.browser-cleanup-thumbnails = 60000 app.update.lastUpdateTime.experiments-update-timer = 60000 app.update.lastUpdateTime.search-engine-update-timer = 60000 app.update.lastUpdateTime.xpi-signature-verification = 60000

Even though I didn't get a response, please disregard question. I was able to fix it by making app.update.silent equal to True. This allowed Firefox to update on it's own, even when it is not open.
